Pizza Sam in Alma

Good pizza. Love the double crust. Nice location. Staff is friendly. Watch out for the newbie server. Doesn't listen very well. Not a fan of the cheesy bread. It might as well be a cheese pizza.

Great pizza, sometimes they have off days, but that's every business. Some of the staff can come off as abrasive or rude, but they work hard, and they work fast. So I cut them a little slack. I always leave a dollar in the tip jar too.

We always enjoy getting pizza Sam's. Not only the pizza but onion rings also. Place is friendlier now then it use to be. Great staff pizza done in ten minutes plus they have half ready pizza that you take home and can cook yourself. Open on sundays would be nice but we understand. Also open late for the night owls.

You dont have to wait super long for pizza.

Pizza Sams is the best I have ever had. I have gone to several highly touted pizza restaurants and none can duplicate the same pizza and taste. Double crust pepperoni-ham-mushroom is the go to. However I have had several combos and all were great.

Delicious pizza. Always fast. Happy to see it's still that hometown place from when I was a kid.

I live in Holland.They have so many pizzas place’s tried them all. Pizza Sam has it. No hands down. The best by far. Wish I could get their more often

This is some of the best pizza in the state of Michigan. I travel from Houghton Lake on occasion just to satisfy a craving. Excellent prices as well.

Their food is sooo good, the pizza and onion rings are our go to food. Those who work there are wonderful. The only reason I knocked down stars is because the owner treats his staff like 💩💩. He's always after them for something and it ruins the atmosphere for me.

Pizza Sam makes very good pizza. They have a friendly staff and they get orders done quickly, even when they are busy. Great for carry out and for dining in. They always get our order right. Delicious!

I was a regular customer in the 70's haven't been to Sam's in years. Most everything seem to be the same, pizza is still excellent. Same dark paneling on the walls😬

Pizza Sams has been my favorite pizza place since childhood and we’re thrilled that the third generation “Sam” has taken the reins. If you thought the original Sam was a gruff taskmaster, it’s because he was but he also had a heart of gold and took care of his people. If you’ve not been back in years, you’re missing the best pizza in Michigan! Love the spicy sauce that’s not too sweet!

On New Year's Day, my wife Julie and I were in Alma to eat dinner at Pizza Sam. We also planned on seeing a movie at NCG Cinemas in Alma. We always enjoy the delicious pizza 🍕 at Pizza Sam. We truly enjoyed both the pizza and the fantastic service. Our server and the pizza cook we're great! We even got to chat with grandson Vinnie prior to leaving. We rank it amongst our top 3 favorite Pizza places in Michigan. We then saw Mary Poppins Returns, which was an awesome movie, and the theater itself was great and the staff were super friendly! Great job! Thanks!

We love Pizza Sam's everytime we are in Alma. Authentic family owned one of a kind business. The food is great, the staff is very friendly and made us feel at home.

There is no other pizza like Sam's. I grew up with it, ham and pepperoni; sometimes with dbl cheese. Stop in every time we get back to Michigan. Try to get several to bring back home too.I've had people eat Sam's that have never tried it before. They weren't sure about it at first but after a few minutes, they are hooked. Must be something in the water....;-)

Don’t support this business. Yes the pizza is decent. But they are bullies, they are thief’s, and the place is NOT an environment for anybody. Such negative energy. Would be happy with the blue cheese recipe and for this place to shut down

We had like an hour wait before we got our food. People got there after us, ordered more food, and they got their food before us. They also left earlier than us. In addition, our waiter was kinda rude.

This is some of the best pizza you will ever taste, if not the best. People will travel for miles to eat here.

This place is a step back in time. Best pizza and veal parm. Sam immigrated from Sicili I believe and his son now runs the place since Sam has passed. Thinner and crunchier than typical a typical pizza so be prepared to order double crust if thin is not your thang. Double crust is not super thick. Either way I don't see how anyone could leave disappointed.

I have never eaten here. I have heard horrible things about what goes on inside with the owners and the employees, including a worker with a disability. I don't understand why so many people don't care about anything other than the food. People just avoid the fact altogether so they can get the pizza.

Needs updating. Sat In a room was told had to sit somewhere else. If you don't want to people in a room . Close or block it off. Didn't want our baby around people and their germs

The hostess or waitress was phenomenal. Exceptional. The pizza is spectacular. I will say, top 3 in the state of MI. Onion rings...definitely not from Gordons... all good....very good...mouth watering!!!

Great place. Authentic italian food and pizza is one of a kind... and the homemade french dressing is amazing!

Pizza was not eatable. Crust could barely be cut with a knife. Hard as a rock. I noticed a letter P on the front of box. I suspect pepperoni are made in quantity, then sit in hot box until ordered. Ours must of sat all day. Sooo disappointed. Sam burgers were ok. We were really looking forward to eating there, but I cannot say we will be back. Not worth it.

Pizza was the best in the area. Great wait staff, handled our large family group with no problems. Still has the ambience and charm I remember from my youth while not being pricey.

This place is an icon. To us locals it will always be the one in the only. The Tourist it is always an experience. To everyone it will no doubt be an evening out with friends and or family enjoyed and remembered. Quaint very small atmosphere extremely intimate, treat you like family every time.

The wait staff are highly efficient. The pizza is good if you are looking for classic Italian. There are other items on the menu, but we only go there for the pizza. I wouldn't suggest the side salad. Relatively inexpensive way to feed the whole family or a group. It is harder to go after seeing how management treats the waitresses.

My husband father grew up in Alma and they had to introduce me to this great place. Food was delicious
